Species and Habitats

The potential loss of our biodiversity is one of the greatest challenges we face. The Balearic Islands are home to more than 300 endemic species and many are in extreme danger of extinction. If these species disappear from the Balearic Islands, they will also disappear from the world as a whole. Knowledge of these populations and their weaknesses will make it possible to implement the necessary measures for their protection. The most important step for the conservation of the species in this region is to protect their habitat.
